The Real New Orleans

The best experiences I ever had in Gainesville were when I searched out locally-owned businesses. They always seem more authentic and to fit in more with the neighborhood.

Some of the great restaurants I found in Gainesville were the 43rd Street Diner and the Flying Biscuit Cafe, which has some seriously inventive and awesome food!

So…one of my goals is to get to know the places right around where I live — you know, places I can walk to from my apartment. I found an amazing Web site that shows all the locally-owned businesses by neighborhood.

I also found a site showcasing local artists and businesses for the eco-minded.
