On everyone’s minds right now is the fourth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Every news source I’ve seen has at least one story on the main page about the disaster and how the people of Louisiana and Mississippi are still coping.
Even Twitter has a trend going now where people will tack on “#whereiwasfouryearsagotoday” and tell the world what they were doing when Katrina hit.
Living in New Orleans four years later, I can see that this is a tough city. The people still walk with their heads held high and they are not backing down or abandoning Nola.
I’m very proud to be a resident here thanks to the wonderful, strong people who make this city what it is.
