First, my boss gave me Thursday, Friday AND Saturday off so now I can go see my family for a decent weekend– and I didn’t even have to ask! There were a lot of close calls on me getting these days taken away, but they worked with me and that makes this the best week of work ever.
Then, I just got accepted for an internship at Dream of Italy, a subscription travel newsletter that has been featured in ABC News, National Geographic Traveler, etc. I will be updating the Web site, writing for the blog and print newsletter, and a lot of other miscellaneous things that I can’t wait to do. It hasn’t really set in yet that I finally have a job doing something I think I will absolutely love.
I can’t wait to spend my day writing and thinking all about Italy — like I don’t already. At least now my thoughts will go to good use.
For Labor Day, Wesley and I visited City Park in Mid City. It was really beautiful, even though we got rained on. We saw a black swan and a gnome village — not your average park sights. There were also some really awesome large oak trees whose branches drooped to the ground so you could climb them and find shade or a place to sit.
