I was on Bourbon Street when the Saints won the Super Bowl

After the Super Bowl on Bourbon Street

The unimaginable has happened, hell has frozen over and the Saints are Super Bowl Champions.

We watched at Finnegan’s Easy on St. Peters Street between Royal and Bourbon.

Bourbon Street after the game was ridiculous. It was like the national championship in Gainesville times 1,000. Local anchors compared it to Times Square on New Year’s Eve for the millennium.

After almost getting trampled getting out of the bar, I immediately had what I think was a beer spilled down my entire backside.

We got to be on TV because we were some of the first people down to Bourbon and happened to see an anchor on the street talking. Yes, we were some of those crazy drunk fans screaming at the TV camera.

Needless to say, finding a cab was impossible – until we did.

Krewe of Barkus dogs

Before watching the game, we walked around town and saw the leftover dogs from the Krewe of Barkus, which is a parade we will be sure not to miss next year. The dogs were super cute.

Greetings from a fellow NOLA blogger! And yeah–that Krewe of Pontchartrain parade was terrible.

See you at the parade tomorrow, I shall presume.
