Uptown update

I went to Annapolis last weekend to visit Wesley and it was amazing. It felt like the first time since I visited New Mexico that I was able to take a clean breath of air. And the green — it was so green, not a bunch of dead swamp trees like Nola. Not to mention the smooth roads and people who actually knew how to drive. We spent most of the time in Annapolis, but also visited D.C. and Rose Haven for a wedding. In D.C., we walked to all the major monuments and went to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and the Newseum. Here areĀ  a few pics from the trip:

Quick update on the Mississippi River water levels, I rode my back along the levee path on Thursday and the water was down at least 3-4 feet from what it was before I left for Maryland.

D.C. bound

I’m headed for my first trip to our nation’s capitol this weekend.

Newseum, Washington D.C.

We’re planning on hitting up the National Mall monuments, the Library of Congress, the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and the Newseum.

I’m most excited about the Newseum – my college roommate visited a few years back and raved about it. But the Library of Congress tour also got rave reviews from my friend who grew up in the D.C. area.

Check back next week for awesome pictures with my new camera – a FinePix Z90.
